Over the last ten years the technical skills, knowledge and experience required to be a competent aerial fitter has significantly increased. The basic skill to fix and align an aerial has always been essential - but the arrival of digital TV services has added an extra dimension to the aerial fitter’s trade.
Monitoring the signal quality and number of errors in the digital code is just one aspect of the job for an aerial fitter. Interconnecting TV equipment (e.g. surround sound systems, DVD players) can take almost as long as the fitting of the aerial. With the arrival of High Definition TV, there is an increasing need for dedicated CAT5 cabling to allow sharing of TV services around the house. More work for the aerial fitter!
All our aerial fitters (except for our apprentice) are Registered Digital Installers and are qualified to NVQ level 2. Oxford Aerials is working towards achieving full NVQ level 3 qualifications for all our fitters. This covers work on larger communal TV systems and satellite dish sharing systems. (I.R.S.) All of our aerial fitters already have experience on this type of installation.
Oxford Aerials employs registered digital installers serving customers in the Oxfordshire area from Wallingford and Didcot in the south to Bicester and Witney to the north and west.
